Who we are

Christ the King Church is a community of believers seeking to know God and to manifest the reality of His nature throughout the earth.

For this reason, we value authentic loving relationship with God and one another, and we fully expect His supernatural power to be demonstrated as we proclaim the reality of His kingdom, transforming the lives of individuals, cities and nations.

We anticipate an abiding manifestation of God’s glory in which people find revelation, healing and deliverance, contributing to the formation of mature overcoming sons and daughters of God.

Mission

To proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God with power
To establish a countywide community of believers
To mature them in the knowledge of God and in good works
To pray and declare the heart and mind of God
To send workers and resources for the building up of the body of Christ worldwide

Our Story

In the summer of 1979, a small group of people began meeting in a home in the Conroe area, praying God would send them a pastor. Meanwhile, Michael and Denise Walsh were in California seeking God as to where He wanted them to start a church. The Lord brought the parties together, and the Walsh family arrived in Texas on October 30, 1979.

Exactly one year later, the church moved into their new building purchased from Groceville Baptist Church.

Outgrowing their facility, the church prayed. Amazingly, someone donated a piece of land with a metal building on it. In January of 1990 the church moved into the new facility and changed its name to Christ the King Church.

Pastoral Team

Mike & Denise Walsh

Mike attended Melodyland School of Theology in California before moving to Conroe to start Christ the King Church. His greatest desire is to know God deeply. Mike enjoys spending time in prayer and worship, as well as writing, teaching, and helping others fulfill their purpose in life. He also enjoys letting Denise drive, especially on long trips.

Denise has served the Body of Christ through teaching, preaching and evangelizing worldwide. Her greatest desire is to mature in love and to see Christ glorified through her life.

Charles & Karen Brett

Since graduating from Christ for the Nations Institute in 1981, Charles has served Christ the King Church in various capacities. He and Karen married in the church in 1983. They have trained four children and now have seven grandchildren. In June of 2015 they moved to a small farm that involves all the family. Everyone has their part from milking the cow, feeding the chickens, watering the garden, to caring for the bees.

BELIEFS

We believe there is one God, eternally existent as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is God's written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His personal return to earth in power and glory.

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, empowering them to manifest Christ in the earth. We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operational in the church today.

We believe salvation, the gift of God, is provided solely by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Turning from sin in repentance, looking to Christ and His vicarious death, man is born anew into eternal life by the Holy Spirit.
